WHEREAS, Volunteer intends to perform services for Denver, a Municipal Corporation, and Denver intends to accept the donation of volunteer services.

NOW THEREFORE the parties hereto agree as follows:

  1. Volunteer agrees to perform services to Denver in the capacity of Ambassador for civic and/or humanitarian reasons. These services are detailed in the Ambassador Volunteer Program Policy and Procedures Manual. Of note, the most current Policy and Procedures Manual shall supersede and replace any and all previous versions.

  2. I understand that I am acting as a volunteer, not as an employee, agent or independent contractor of Denver or any other person or entity and that this agreement must be completed and approved before Denver may accept my services as a volunteer.

  3. It is expressly understood that volunteer services shall be donated, and that the Volunteer is not entitled to, nor expects, any present or future salary, wages, or other benefits for these voluntary services with the exception of named expenses. Named expenses are detailed in the Ambassador Volunteer Program Policy and Procedures Manual.

  4. Volunteer agrees to follow the supervision and direction of any personnel, employee, or volunteer, to whom Volunteer has been assigned to perform services, and to participate in any training required by the City in order to perform the voluntary services. Furthermore, Volunteer will abide by all Federal, State and Local laws including but not limited to the Denver Municipal Airport System Rules and Regulations and the Ambassador Volunteer Program Policy and Procedures.

  5. Volunteer agrees that he/she will not be considered to be an employee of Denver, for any purposes while performing the above described voluntary services. As such, under Colorado law Volunteer may not be considered an employee within the meaning of the Colorado Worker’s Compensation Act, and therefore, under Colorado law Volunteer may not be entitled to recover worker’s compensation from the employer for any injury incurred while participating in the Activity.

  6. I understand that this volunteer agreement is intended to read as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the State of Colorado, and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the remaining terms of this Agreement shall continue in full legal force and effect.

  7. Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to waive, limit, or otherwise modify any governmental immunity that may be available to the City and its officers, officials, appointees, employees, agents and representatives under the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, Colorado Revised Statutes §24-10-101. et seq.

  8. I am 18 years of age or older.

  10. Volunteer further agrees to act courteously at all times and to account for all money, books, records, goods or other property entrusted to Volunteer by Denver or others while Volunteer is on the premises of Denver International Airport.

  11. It is further understood and agreed to by Volunteer that the services rendered to Denver shall apply only in the case of liability arising out of the ordinary negligence that occurs during the scope of the Volunteer’s services agreed to herein, and that in no way do any of these provisions apply for the benefit of Volunteer, his/her heirs, executors or administrators in any action arising out of gross negligence, willful misconduct, or any other conduct on the part of Volunteer, which cause or may give rise to liability.

  12. Volunteer further agrees that Volunteer will fully cooperate with Denver and its agents in any investigation, claim, lawsuit, administrative hearing or any other legal or quasi-legal proceedings that arise from the matters covered by this Agreement. Volunteer further agrees to notify Denver immediately of any incident that occurs or may occur within the knowledge of the Volunteer, which gives rise to liability on the part of Denver.

  13. I understand that my volunteer assignment may be terminated at any time by either party to this agreement for any reason including (but not limited to) not completing the required number of volunteer hours per quarter as detailed in the Ambassador Volunteer Program Policy and Procedures Manual.
